My mission is to provide positive resources and solutions to stepfamilies and remarried adults to increase their happiness and success. My passion is to help support remarriages and stepfamilies by knowing the best resources available. I founded Remarriage LLC, a multimedia company that provides information, community and products that enhance the experience of remarriage and stepfamily living. Through Remarriage LLC's online offering, www.RemarriageWorks.com, I provide practical solutions and resources for the ever-growing remarriage community. My business venture, along with my personal experience of meeting the challenges that come with having a stepfamily of seven, has put me at the forefront of the national stepfamily conversation.

As a trusted expert and advocate, I frequently speak, write, and consult about stepfamily issues and created the monthly "On Remarriage" column in The Washington Times. I authored Journal for Stepmoms, which is not only a journal, but also provides valuable information for stepmoms throughout the years as stepmothers face different stepfamily issues. I serve on the Board of Directors for the National Stepfamily Day Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in MD.

The Reason I Became A Helping Professional

For 19 years, I was an intelligence analyst supporting the Department of Defense. When I was divorced with two children, I became engaged to a widower with three children and quickly realized there weren't many credible, valuable resources for remarrying couples and stepfamily living. In 2006, my youngest child was diagnosed with Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Faced with the demands of his condition, I opted to change careers and enacted a business plan I conceived when I was planning my second wedding. 

My mission is to have a positive impact on stepfamilies and remarried adults by providing solutions that increase happiness and success. The bottom line is that I wanted to create something that I couldn't find as I was remarrying and forming a stepfamily.  I want to help the millions of stepfamilies in the U.S. by providing them credible, vetted, and valuable information and resources.
