The Reason I Became A Helping Professional

Throughout my childhood, I grew up in an East coast version of the Walton family.  My mother was the prototypical, stay-at-home mom.  My father was the dedicated, bread-winner.   My two brothers and I were well-rounded, academically focused, loving children. There was a large extended family and warm family holiday gatherings. All was right in the world.

And then one day, the impossible happened. 

My parents sat us down, and my mom looked us in the eyes and said: "your father and I are getting a divorce."

To say that I was distraught was an understatement. There had been no fighting between my parents...ever.  My world was turned upside down.

It was at that exact moment, that my destiny had been set.  I have dedicated my life to preventing unenccessary divorces from ocurring. 

After three decades of saving hundreds of thousands of marriages, the divorce prevention fire still burns every bit as strong as that fateful day.
