Is Catelynn cheating on Tyler? Read on for details about the Catelynn Lowell/Tyler Baltierra cheating rumors.
1. Middle school sweethearts
Tyler and Catelynn started dating way back in middle school. The relationship became a kind of family affair when Catelynn’s mom and Tyler’s dad also started dating. The elder couple got married in 2009 but split up in 2013.
2. 16 and pregnant
Catelynn was sixteen when she got pregnant with her first biological child with Tyler. They made the choice to place the baby for adoption with another family, who named her Carly. The adoption is an open arrangement so the couple gets to see the girl, who is now almost 10 years old.
3. Infidelity
Tyler and Catelynn planned to wed in 2010 when Tyler proposed during the first season of Teen Mom. However, that wedding never happened due to an admission of cheating. While the couple took a brief break from their relationship, Catelynn hooked up with another guy and lied about it.
Tyler didn’t take it well and broken things off. However, they reconciled soon after.
4. Couples Therapy
The pair decided to work out their problems on the VH1 show Couples Therapy, which once again sidelined the idea of marriage. Tyler confessed on the show that “I feel like once we're married, I'm going to be stuck in this rut forever. The more I think about it, the more it's like she de-motivates me. She's not motivated to do things herself. She's not independent. She'd probably never admit it, but I feel like sometimes she puts up with me.”
But it was only a few months later that Tyler decided to propose again, this time with a bigger ring. At that time, Catelynn was pregnant with daughter Novalee.
5. Hard times
After Nova was born, they finally got the wedding they had always dreamed of and settled down to enjoy being a family of three. But Catelynn suffered from post-partum depression, which is very common, and they struggled to keep the marriage going.
Tyler, at the time, said “It affected [our marriage] as far as our communication goes. For the first time, we didn’t know how to communicate because we never went through it before and we didn’t know anything about postpartum. It’s definitely created a little bit of tension.”
After a miscarriage in 2017, Catelynn caught inpatient treatment for depression and suicidal ideation.
6. New baby
In September of 2018, the couple announced they were expecting another baby. However, in November they revealed that they were taking a break and living apart. At the time they claimed not to be dating other people and were often affectionate toward one another in social media posts. The reconciled and welcomed baby Vaeda in February 2019.
7. Paternity?
With all the rocky patches in their past, it’s no wonder some fans are suspicious of who might have father Vadea. A few commenters on Instagram said things like “Dude you gotta hit up that genetic testing.” and “Bruh, Cate cheated.”
Catelynn jumped into the fray and sarcastically responded: “Sorry baby I totally cheated and Vaeda’s not yours.” Finally, Tyler shut the haters down in an Instagram story where he said “Wow. I’m actually just appalled at the ridiculously asinine comments about my newborn. We live in a world that is so divided, judgmental, self righteous & opinionated,,,& unfortunately it’s very evident with these comments. Respectful MATURITY is having a strong opinion & voicing it when necessary. Disrespectful IMMATURITY is having a strong opinion & voicing it when it is NOT NECESSARY. Your deity knows all of your thoughts … but evil can only hear what comes out of your mouth. Live with love & speak with peace or karma is going to be your ally, I can guarantee that!”
Tyler and Catelynn are appearing on the new season of Teen Mom OG.
