'The Hills' star—who has babies on the brain!—opens up to YourTango about life after saying 'I do.'
Kristin Cavallari, a doting mother and wife? That may have been difficult for fans of Laguna Beach to imagine back in the day, but the MTV starlet has matured before our very eyes—and pulled one over on us when she wed Chicago Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler this past June in Nashville in a very un-Hills ceremony.
The newlyweds—and parents to 1-year-old son Camden Jack—met in 2010 through a mutual friend and began dating shortly after. When asked if she believes in love at first sight, Kristin tells YourTango, "I do because it happened with Jay and me."
About eight months later, Jay popped the question. However, three months later, the couple decided to take a relationship hiatus. The separation didn't last long as they reunited just a few months later. "Someone gave me the Love Languages book, and that has been the best book I've ever read about relationships and has helped me the most," the newly minted Mrs. shares her best love advice from personal experience.
Since saying 'I do' just two months ago, married life hasn't brought many surprises for the Cutlers. "It is exactly the same! Once you live together and have a baby not much can change." Except Baby No. 2, who will likely arrive sooner than later if all goes as planned.
Speaking of buns in the oven, Kristin bounced back to her toned pre-baby body after Cam's birth (in what felt like record time!) and tells other new moms, "You cannot beat yourself up. You have to remember what your body just went through and know that it's going to take time. Try to do something active a few times a week. I walked on the treadmill and lifted weights four times a week. I also eat a very clean diet. I just try to make sure I am getting veggies in every day. You also have to allow yourself to cheat here and there in order to stay on track."
Besides working on making Camden a big brother these days, the Laguna Beach alumnae is focusing on other projects, including another jewelry collection with Pascal Mouawad. "I have a holiday line coming out, which I am very excited about." Her fashion career doesn't stop at accessories, though. "I'm designing a capsule collection for Junk Food and the NFL that will debut on the runway during fashion week in September!"
Sounds like she's got it all these days—fashion, football, and family!
