Pregnant Kate Hudson Is Engaged To Matt Bellamy

Kate Hudson went on the Today Show Wednesday morning to talk about her new movie Something Borrowed, but Matt Lauer seemed more interested in Hudson’s baby bump and the huge rock on her ring finger than he did about her new flick.

"It just happened a week ago," Hudson said, happily flashing her diamond for the camera.

Hudson's fiancé is Muse frontman Matt Bellamy. Just a few months ago, when news of her pregnancy broke, Hudson, who is divorced from Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, fended off rumors that she and Bellamy were engaged. "I don't like putting that sort of pressure on it and I don't feel it necessary to get married. I am 31, I already have one child and have had one divorce so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy."

Well, she certainly seemed happy as she giggled her way through Lauer's questions about the proposal. She didn't share many details, only saying that the proposal was sweet and romantic and that they haven't set a date yet. And in a unique twist for a Hollywood couple, Hudson kept news of the engagement quiet. Which was probably why she suddenly turned into a bubbly school girl when Lauer inquired about the ring.

"The announcing thing just felt so silly. I was waiting for someone to notice," she said with a laugh.

We're not sure how anyone could not notice such a gigantic stunner of a ring, but apparently Hudson and Bellamy hoped to be sneaky enough to hide it until someone pointed it out. One thing there's no hiding? Her pregnant belly. We're glad Hudson and Bellamy are focusing on their baby before worrying about their celebrity wedding, which will no doubt make headlines faster than this engagement did.

"Matt Bellamy is a beautiful man and we're just going to sort of sit in to the baby thing for a little bit and kind of figure them out one at a time," Hudson told Lauer.
