Eight years is longer than a lot of marriages in Hollywood, so we really thought that low-key couple Mila Kunis and
Kevin McAllister Macaulay Culkin had figured out the secret to making a celebrity relationship last. But, sadly, after a few weeks of rumors, we now have learned that the Black Swan actress and the Home Alone star are over, at least for now, it seems.
"The split was amicable, and they remain close friends," said Mila's rep over the holidays.

Mila, 27, reportedly met and started dating Macaulay, 30, in 2002 when she was only 19 years old. By that time, Mila was already famous and working on That 70's Show, and having achieved stardom at such young probably gave her and Macaulay a lot to talk about and bond over. (Macaulay, who was considered the most successful child star of the '90s at the height of his career, also finalized his divorce from actress Rachel Miner that same year, after having been married for 4 years.)
However, although Mila gushed to Women's Health in 2009 that they had "grown up together" and that Macaulay was her "steady rock," perhaps she wanted to experience other relationships before settling down for good like her Black Swan co-star Natalie Portman has recently done. "I don't know if I met him at 27 if it would have been a different relationship," Mila told the magazine about Macaulay. (According to Celebitchy, the couple has been living on opposite coasts for a while now, which also likely contributed to their split.)

"Not to say that I don’t believe in it, but it’s just not something that’s important to me," she told BlackBook Magazine. "But I will have children. I’m too selfish to have them now, but when I do, I don’t feel like I need to be married. I need to have a person in my life who will care for me and my children—nothing else." With a career as red hot as hers is right now and rumors of a possible Oscar nomination for Black Swan, we can't say that we blame Mila for wanting to put dating - and her biological clock - on hold for the moment. (Although is it wrong that we secretly hope that she and Mac will get back together?)
