Ashton Kutcher's cheating ways are old news by now, but are they the only reason why the Two And A Half Men star moved out of the house he shares with wife, Demi Moore, in early September? (Yes, we're just hearing about that now.)
According to the new issue of Life & Style, some old skeletons have come out of the 48-year-old's closet: namely, substance abuse. As you may recall, Moore dealt with the affliction in the 80s and even went to rehab for a brief time. That seemed to do the trick... until recently.
"Demi had been sober for a long time—decades—but recently it's gotten bad," Life & Style's source says. "Ashton loves her, but he can't stick around and watch her do this to herself... Her daughters, Scout, Rumer and Tallulah, and her ex-husband Bruce Willis want her to be healthy. The whole family is taking a stand to help Demi."
My, my, how the tables have turned! But something seems odd about this, given how busy Demi has been lately. She's the new face of Ann Taylor and just finished directing (for the first time!) the Lifetime original movie, Five, alongside Jennifer Aniston and Alicia Keys. In fact, just this morning she made an appearance to promote the project on Good Morning America, looking perfectly polished... and sober. Oh Ashton Kutcher, Say It Ain't So!
Nevertheless, let's play devil's advocate. If Life & Style's report is true, Ashton still comes out looking like the bad guy. Now, not only did he cheat on his wife of six years, but he also cheated on her while she's supposedly battling an addiction that reared its ugly head again. Instead of actively helping his wife through her struggle, he's reportedly moved out and on with other, younger girls. How supportive!
The magazine's source adds, "He may have fooled around with this girl, but his wife is his priority." Umm, for some reason, we find that hard to believe.
Do you believe the report that Demi Moore is struggling from substance abuse again? Can you sympathize with Ashton?
