With recent reports of Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer rekindling their flame and rumors that Jude Law is once again romancing Sienna Miller, we started thinking about those couples who love to break up just to make up. Here are just a handful of the most memorable on-again, off-again romances that have been making headlines for years.
Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler – The Blink 182 drummer and former Miss USA were married in 2004 and starred in MTV's reality series Meet The Barkers. Shortly after their series ended in 2006, Travis filed for divorce and the pair famously took to MySpace to air their dirty laundry. In early 2007, Shanna revealed that she and Travis had reconciled, and soon after reports of their rapid-fire breakups and make-ups were all over the tabloids. The couple's divorce was finalized in early 2008, but they got back together again after Travis survived a plane crash later that year. All seemed well until April 2009, when Travis left Shanna, claiming that she had been messing around with Hollywood stud Gerard Butler.
Sean Penn and Robin Wright-Penn – Together since 1989 and married in 1996, the Penns seemed like one of the most solid couplings in Hollywood until rumors of Sean's infidelity started cropping up. The couple announced plans to divorce in 2007, only to reconcile in early 2008. In April of this year, Sean filed for separation but quickly changed his mind in May. Sean then announced that he would take a break from acting to focus on his family—but it must have been a case of too little, too late, as Robin filed for divorce in August. After all the past indecision, the pair seems to be done for good. Robin Wright Penn Says Divorce Should Be Private
George Clooney and Krista Allen – Although George has romanced just about every woman in Hollywood (and a few "Average Janes"), Krista was the one love he could never seem to shake. The pair dated from 2002 until 2004, and then reconnect briefly in 2006. The couple reportedly tried again in 2008, but Krista finally got fed up with George's philandering ways early this year.
