Corey Feldman's Wife Susie Files For Divorce

Who would have guessed that a marriage officiated by MC Hammer as part of an episode of The Surreal Life wouldn't go the distance?

Former '80s teen star Corey Feldman and Playboy model wife Susie (neé Sussanah Sprague) certainly lasted longer than most expected, but have finally fallen victim to the fabled seven year itch. According to People, Susie filed for divorce on October 22 citing—what else—irreconcilable differences. She is seeking spousal support and sole custody of the couple's five-year-old son. According to his publicist, this is all a huge shock to Corey, who is claiming no fault in the breakdown of the union. The official statement released on Wednesday explains,

Corey is deeply hurt and saddened by this unexpected change in their relationship, and has done nothing to contribute to the demise of the marriage. He is hopeful that he and Susie can work to resolve this quickly and amicably, and he is fully committed to doing what is best for the welfare of their son.

It usually takes two people to kill a relationship, so we don't necessarily believe Corey's stance that he is blameless but we aren't surprised that Susie was the one who initiated the split. Anyone who had seen even one episode of The Two Coreys would know that Corey was completely whipped. Or, to put it a nicer way, he absolutely doted on Susie. Of course, loving too much may have been the problem. Perhaps Susie felt smothered? Or perhaps this is yet another case of marrying much too quickly and too young.
