Hardly a month has passed since R&B mogul Jermaine Dupri first presented his birthday present to his lady love, singer Janet Jackson: a large tattoo of her posed as a madonna, emblazoned on his right side.

Too bad the return policy on that gift requires a little more than a receipt.

The National Enquirer is reporting that the couple of four years is splitting after Janet's career decline has left relations between the two unstable. After all, Dupri was also the manager of Ms. Jackson's largely unsuccessful recent tour. According to Access Atlanta, concerts had been repeatedly canceled due to poor ticket sales. "Janet and Jermaine finally hit a wall," National Enquirer's unnamed source said. "They were fighting over his management of her career. In the end, she decided to make a break."

The 36-year-old singer has reportedly moved out of Jermaine's Los Angeles house.

The rumored Janet and Jermaine fallout just goes to show that it's a risky business mixing work and love life. When one starts going downhill, the other is more than likely to follow. Jackson's image has suffered considerably since her "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl in 2004. Her latest album, Discipline, only sold 440,000 copies.
