Nick Cannon picked out an 8-week-old Jack Russell terrier named Cha-Cha as a gift for his wife, Mariah Carey, for their first anniversary, which is in May. "We never went on a honeymoon," Nick told Us Weekly, "so I guess I can tell you we'll probably go to Barbados."

Cannon and Carey were married in the Bahamas last year and have, by all accounts, been living in Hello Kitty—decorated bliss ever since. Rumors of Carey's pregnancy have flown since they wed, but so far Cha-Cha is the only addition to the Marick family. As anniversary gifts go, there's not much that's cuter than a puppy, although it's not exactly traditional. According to About.com, the age-old first-anniversary gift is paper, and clocks are a contemporary alternative. Here are five other couples with anniversaries coming up, and our suggestions for gifts (of the non–four-legged variety).

Beyonce and Jay-Z, April 4, 1 year: Mr. and Mrs. HOVA exchanged top-secret vows in New York last year just a few weeks before Nick and Mariah. For their celebration we recommend they both get back in the studio. Perhaps a sequel to "Crazy in Love" is in order?

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, April 20, 2 years: The Bollywood power couple had a traditional Hindu ceremony that, despite their attempts to preserve some privacy, turned into a celeb-studded extravaganza watched by millions of their fervent fans. For their anniversary we don't think it would be too much to ask Abhishek to build his gorgeous bride a palace rivaling the Taj Mahal, which a Mughal emperor commissioned in memory of his beloved wife.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, April 9, 4 years: The prince of Wales and his longtime lady friend made it official back in 2005, with both of his sons and the Queen herself in attendance. For their anniversary, the prince should ask some of those famously stoic Buckingham Palace guards to doff their toques. Or she should get her own private Falkland Island.

Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer, April 7, 6 years: Since Crowe is the part owner of a rugby club, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, there's only one proper gift for the mother of his two sons: Jumbotron shout-out.

Kevin and Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, April 25, 10 years: Since movies brought Kevin and Jennifer together (they met when he was casting a role in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), the best anniversary gift would be a screenplay with a starring role for Mrs. Smith. We suggest a sequel to Dogma, with Jennifer as the first-century deaconess St. Phoebe of the Church at Cenchrea.
