Yes, that's true.
But the a-holes also get stuck with women who are obviously just as self-absorbed, or have low self esteem. or who are just dumb. So it all pans out.
Men are just as guilty, by the way, of "falling in love" with sluts and passing up the good girls.
My advice is live and learn and focus on whether you want to end up happy or end up "popular."
While I recognize that jerky guys may impart more effort in picking up women, I think there is something inherently endearing to women about getting with the guy who makes himself the center of attention. It's like: if he thinks he's that great, and everyone (ie his loyal band of followers) seems to agree, then there must be something worthwhile beyond the facade. But it's always a slap in the face when you (inevitably) realize you've been deceived.
Robert/ Tom: I think you guys both are probably right to some degree. I also think most of us love the attention that aggressive guy give us. The muscles aren't bad either.
