When Mercury is retrograde, the planet appears to move backward in its orbit. Astrologically, this gives the effect that we are also retracing our steps and taking steps backward since we usually end up repeating different scenarios when this transit happens.
Mercury retrograde impacts all forms of communication, travel, and technology. We can expect our emails to bounce, texts to be completely misinterpreted, or our phones or computers might suddenly stop working.
Because we feel as if we are redoing a lot during this time, people might be apprehensive about getting married during a Mercury retrograde.
Since marriage is a legally binding contract between two people, the effects of this transit might have both parties redo this event. With retrograde, one person might even feel they regret signing an agreement, which can lead to divorce. It is simply why many astrologers advise against getting married during a retrograde.

Do not complicate your life on the most important day. Make sure not to go too crazy with tasks that might become overwhelming on the wedding day. Keep things manageable for yourself and everyone else involved in the planning process.

Just make sure to pace yourself and do things slowly and carefully so you do not have to redo them. Patience is a virtue and it will allow you to not get frustrated if something doesn’t go your way.

The most important tip is to love! If you and your partner love one another, the day will still be a dream because you want to spend the rest of your life with this person.
Although it might seem scary to marry during Mercury retrograde, it doesn’t mean the marriage will not last. As long as the love is genuine and the relationship is built on trust, it’s not a big deal.
