About Ralph Steele

Ralph Steele is a licensed marriage and family therapist, who also has taught meditation retreats since 1987. Mr. Steele received his MA from the University of Santa Clara in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy in 1979, and holds BA degrees in Humanistic Psychology, and Religious Studies. He was instrumental in establishing people-of-color retreats; teaches courses in Buddhist Psychology that has twenty-four continuing education credits by New Mexico Counseling Board.  Mr Steele founded the first hospice care Associate Degree program in America, at Northern New Mexico College, now a Master of Arts program at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, N.M, where he was board chair.  Ralph is a Vietnam veteran, and a veteran of many Panchakarma intensives with Dr. Sunil Joshi in Nagpur, India. He has practiced as an ordained monk for one year in the monasteries of Burma and Thailand, he has also studied with Tibetan masters Lobsung Lhalungpa and Lama Thubten Yeshe.  Ralph is the guiding teacher at Life Transition Meditation Center, www.lifetransition.com; a non-profit organization with a global inner peace mission. He works as a trauma specialist and is the founder and director of Life Transition Therapy in Santa Fe, NM. He is the author of Tending the Fire: Through War and the Path of Meditation
