About Jesse Remer

I am here to illuminate the heart of healthcare through accessing the powers of intuition, love and purpose. I bring skills as a birth and postpartum doula, trainer, educator, speaker, writer, change agent, advocate and resource to support the creation of new models of maternity care. I specializes in the childbearing year but I've available to many modalities of traditional healthcare work including sexual wellness and rites of passage through couplehood, family changes, divorce, death or illness.

I am the founder of Mother Tree Birth Services the largest doula practice in Oregon, providing pregnancy, birth and postpartum support to families in the greater Portland and Vancouver area since 2001. I am a leading expert in the clinical design team for Providence Health Systems Pregnancy Care Package and became the first staff doula of their integrated healthcare model. I am a founding member of the Oregon Doula Association (ODA) and chair of the Policy & Advisory Committee.  I liaison to the Oregon Health Authority Traditional Healthcare Workers Systems Integration subcommittee working on creating sustainable systems of doula support within the system.

I have supported thousands of families during a combined 20 years in private practice and as lead doula at Providence Maternal Care Clinic.   I'm certified birth and postpartum doula (DONA) and an international doula trainer (DONA). I have trained thousands of doulas, nursing students and L&D staff in the art of doula care internationally. I am dedicated to bridging models of care and has worked with many health systems to illuminate the heart of healthcare.

My specialties include supporting couples in discovering their natural pain coping techniques and deepening their intimacy and feelings of safety and support through learning their love languages, comfort positons, comfort massage and other intentional exercises for the childbearing year and beyond.

Prior to my work as a doula I worked with change agents in the field of organizational development, coordinated an annual international leadership conferences and contributed years in journalism, public relations, marketing, event planning and hospitality.

I live  in Portland, OR at the Mother Tree Retreat Center with my two sons Dashiell and Juna on 5 acres of other assorted nature creatures in Portland, Oregon.
