About Sarah E. Brown

I am an author, a speaker, a coach, and a trainer of coaches.  I founded BookofYou.com to generate completely personalized self-help books.

I am passionate about helping women get in touch with their unique talents and gifts and using this knowledge to discover their purpose.  This idea came to me while I was Managing Director at Accenture, a large consulting and outsourcing firm.  I had many clients, mostly women, whom I loved.  But so many of these clients told me they were miserable in their jobs.  When I would ask them what they would love, they could not answer the question.  I further observed that some women were overcoming this as a result of hiring and working with a coach.  These women were making changes either in their current job or actually changing jobs.  And with each step, they were becoming happier.

What were these coaches doing, I wondered.  And so I studied what was happening.  The coaches were helping these women get clear about their passions and their strengths.  They were helping them to understand their obstacles, like what stressed them.  And the coaches were supporting them in a way each woman needed to make the necessary changes to be happier and more successful.

As a result of this experience, I had to take a hard look at my own situation.  I too hired a coach and got clear about what my unique passions and strengths were.  But more importantly I got clear about what was causing me stress.  I made some immediate changes in my own job to improve my effectiveness and happiness.  And eventually, I retired early from Accenture to devote myself to helping other women do what I saw so many do with the help of a coach.

So how do I do this?

First of all, I really believe there is great power from having a coach.  So I spend a great deal of my time training and enabling other coaches.  With some of my tools, coaches can develop deep insights into what makes their clients unique.

And for those individuals that do not want to work with a coach or cannot afford it,  I offer completely personalized books on a range of topics.  This series is called The Book of You™. Based on the results of a world-reknowned personality assessment, I can generate a unique book all about an individual with information unique to that individual and specific guidance based on her unique personality.  Each product is like a “coach in a book.”

I firmly believe that with knowledge of your interests, your strengths, and your needs, you can be happy, successful, and understood in a whole range of different pursuits such as:

How to choose a career that is right for you

How to improve a job you are already in

How to improve a significant relationship

How to manage your money

How to undertake any of a series of personal development efforts, like fitness or nutritional improvement

I had a very successful career in Corporate America (Bell System, DuPont, and Accenture) before retiring as Managing Director at Accenture to devote myself to personalizing self-help advice in the form of customized books.  I have a B.S. and M.A. in Mathematics from Wake Forest University, and a Ph. D. in PsychoEducational Processes from Temple University, 15 years of Talent Management experience, and skills and experience in scaling complicated operations.

In addition to my personalized books, I have written Let Your Personality be your Career Guide and the best-selling The Road to Success, which was co-written with New York Times Best Selling Author Jack Canfield, originator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series.

I have delivered 2 TEDx talks on the power of this self awareness:  How to be Happy, Successful, and Understood in 2013 and What My Job Taught Me about Finding a Romantic Relationship in 2017.
