I Believe

The world is in too much trouble for any of us to make ourselves small. I believe that each life matters. So, to quote Mary Oliver, "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? "

About Minx Boren

I am a Master Certified Coach credentialed by the International Coach Federation.– As an MCC with more than twenty-five years of experience in supporting and inspiring others to live their best life, I wear many hats: Life Coach and HealthWise Coach and TimeWise Coach and Authentic Happiness Coach and Group Coach and a Coach who does motivational speaking and facilitates conversations and workshops about what matters most !

As a longtime enthusiast and teacher of journal-keeper and as frequently published writer, I am the author of four books of poetry and co-author of a dozen Self-Discovery books and workbooks, mostly for women. My book, Healing Is a Journey – find your own path to hope, recovery, and wellness, was released by Blue Mountain Arts in May 2014. My second Blue Mountain book, Friendship Is a Journey – a celebration of true connection and deep caring, was released in the spring of 2016. I have been a columnist for several print and online magazines. In addition, I have been producing my Balance Points newsletters for the past 6 years.

My professional training includes such cutting-edge technologies as MBTI, the PRINT, Appreciative Inquiry™, Emotional Intelligence™, the Art of Convening™, Authentic Happiness Coaching™, and C-IQ® - Conversational Intelligence. Coaching is a process of inquiry and my favorite question, from a poem by Mary Oliver, is “Tell me what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” Coaching is also action oriented and so my focus is on not only what it means to live a joyful, meaningful, and fulfilling life but also what it takes to do.

The theme that weaves its way through all my work is Authentic Happiness. I believe, and research proves, that happiness is our most resilient, creative, and productive state AND, both personally and business-wise, it is a choice we get to make again and again.

Coaching is an invitation to GET CLEAR. It is a process of inquiry designed to create greater awareness and inspire action. The coaching dialogue centers around taking a good look at the present with an eye toward the future. Personal coaching provides an opportunity to give yourself your undivided attention in order to live a fulfilling life by first clearly taking time to know and embrace who you are, what you love and, from that perspective, choosing how to best use your gifts and talents.

Coaching is an opportunity to GET COURAGEOUS. As a coach I believe that everyone has the right and capacity to live a fulfilling life and so I partner with clients in imagining and creating WHAT NOW and WHAT NEXT. In the process, clients are encouraged to determine what they want more of and less of in their lives and/or in their work environments so that together we can strategize to make that happen. The bottom line is that coaching is action oriented. Deep reflection and careful consideration are stepping stones on the journey toward taking the steps to create a life that matters and makes a difference.

When was the last time you gave yourself your undivided attention? When was the last time you took the time to create a clear road map to success and a strategic and courageous plan to get there? I am passionate about working with people who are ready to be in this empowering and transformational conversation.

Finally, I am a longtime community activist and am passionate about my commitments to be of service. I am a longtime member of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and served as president in 2013/2014. I have served as a Board Member of the Women's Foundation of Florida since 2007 and as an instructor for the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation Student Intern Program for 10 years. I am a 2013 recipient of the Giraffe Award, presented by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce to women who “stick their necks out for others.” I am a member of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) and, in addition, have been awarded the status of Pinnacle Professional by the Continental Who's Who. Most recently I have become involved in the Elders Action Network which focuses on environmental, social justice, and sustainability issues.
