Do you really know Spike Lee?

Spike Lee announced on July 22, that he would be using Kickstarter, to raise $1.25 million for his next movie project. Lee has not announced the title as of yet and refers to it as the "Newest Hottest Spike Lee Joint." The new feature is about "human beings who are addicted to blood." Lee wrote this on his Kickstater page, "It's not Blacula."  And also adds, "There's a lot of sex in it too."

In light of Spike Lee's recent movie project. I've compiled at list of the "10 Things You Should Know About Spike Lee."

1. Spike Lee's film, "Malcolm X" was the only feature film allowed to do this? It's the only feature film that has been allowed to shoot actual footage in Mecca.

2.What's Spike Lee's  first student film?  His first student film was," Last Hustle in Brooklyn", its was completed when he was an undergraduate at Morehouse College.

3.What film school did Lee attend? He attended New York University Film School in 1982.

4. Lee won  a Student Academy Award for which film? He won a a Student Academy Award for his thesis film," Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop: We Cut Heads", while attending  New York University Film School. 

5. How much did, "She's Gotta Have It", gross at the box office? It grossed more than $7 million at the box office, making it one of the most profitable films made in 1986.

6.  In 1989, which Spike Lee film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay? "Do The Right Thing", was was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, but the film, "Dead Poets Society", won the the Oscar.

Spike has been in the business for over three decades. Through his production company 40 Acres & A Mule Filmworks, he continues to create and direct independent films for major studios. Lee also works a professor at NYU and dosen't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
