About Maraya Loza Koxahn

I am an Integral Therapist with a passion for Argentine Tango. After graduating with a BA in Psychology and a BFA in Art Education from the University of Calgary, I studied numerous alternative health modalities. For over 20 years I have assisted individuals and groups wholistically in these areas: bodywork; nutrition, lifestyle and psycho/emotional counseling; communication and community-building; writing, art and dance. My purpose is to help others find their passion – whether it be in the area of life purpose or within their intimate relationship. I’m captivated by the ever-intriguing, ever-changing, dance between the genders and the quest for a better life.

Since the early death of my father I've been interested in prevention and the maintenance of the good health. For every one of us as individuals, and in every relationship, there needs to be a balance of yin and yang, a time to lead and a time to follow. I have always endeavored to gain greater awareness and maintain balance in my life and in doing so, I have been fortunate to have avoided illness and excessive personal trauma.

I have more than 40 years of relationship experience to bring to my couples coaching sessions. I also have successful experience with on-line dating and can bring both my flair for wordplay and photography to assist you with your profile and your search for love.

I think of the Tango as a metaphor for the communication between men and women in intimate relationships and the dance as movement through life. Sometimes it’s just the metaphor of the dance I keep in mind while counseling and sometimes we work with the dance itself to facilitate communication and increase intimacy, trust and passion in the relationship. I believe that dancing is a good way to support overall health and Tango is a perfect dance to accompany us all into old age.
