Two Easy Steps To Eliminate Your Fears!

By entering the world of coaching, I have taken some major risks – I truly believe that coaching and helping women is my divine passion… BUT… I left a cushy (yet unfulfilling) salaried job to do what fulfills me soulfully. I also enrolled in an online business school and it’s really pushing me outside my comfort zone. It’s making think about things that I want to do, but I’m scared to do them!

As I lay in bed last night, my thought train ran like this:

I don’t like this place. I’m nervous. This doesn’t make me feel good. I can’t think clearly. I don’t know what to do next.

Does this sound familiar?

But I’m happy this has happened, because it reminded me of an important thing about fear:

Fear isn’t a conscious awareness: We don’t walk around saying “I’m scared” all the time, nor do we say, “Yep, golly-gee that’s me, I’m scared all right.” Rather, fear is sub-conscious, giving us side effects such as foggy brain, the inability to make decisions, insomnia, irritability, loss of appetite, upset stomach (Wow, does this sound like a pharmaceutical commercial, or what?). Further, it can cripple you, paralyze you, and prevent you from taking any action at all. Why? Because you can’t think!

But I have an antidote to fear. But you have to really work hard on it!

1) Make fear your conscious friend. That means you must own it, admit it, write it down, tell your friends, tell your family, heck - tell your kids, Facebook your fear if you have to! By bringing your fear into conscious awareness you are doing two things: 1) you are relieving its power over you and 2) you are verbally expressing what it is making you afraid.

But your work doesn’t stop there. Nope, you gotta do one more thing.

2) Replace your fear with gratitude. The more fear you have, the more fear comes to you. You actually are sending fearful energy out to the Universe, attracting more fearful energy to you (that’s the Law of Attraction). But once you consciously know what fears you, look down on it and say some thank you mantras!

Yours might look like this:
I am afraid of the unknown. I am afraid of letting go of my past. I am afraid of losing my money. I am afraid I will never find love again. BUT…  Dear Universe, Thank you for all the new people that will come into my life because of this. Thank you for the ability to learn. Thank you for growing me into someone better.  Thank you for all the abundance that is coming my way! Thank you for all the love in my life and making the pain go away.

Wah-la!! You did it! Now don’t you feel better?

And I must say one more thing…
