Make 2017 Your Year Of Positive Change!

Defining your goals is essential to establishing sound and clear-cut motivational strategies to reach your health and wellness intentions. However, you can’t just talk about it; you’ve got to be about it.

Your motivation will get you started, habit will keep you going, and discipline will bridge the gap between your goals and accomplishment. Look at your goals as stepping stones rather than final destinations; reaching the goal is not the end, but the means to another goal.

#1. A goal must be well defined.

Vague statements such as “I want to be thinner” or “I want to lose weight” are ambiguous. Instead determine and target your optimal weight with your physician and aim for it.

#2. Put your goal in writing.

Hectic lifestyles have a way of turning the best laid plans into distant memories. Write your goals down and keep them in a place where you will see them regularly.

#3. State your goals with positive affirmations.

An affirmation is a simply worded positive statement asserting something to be true. The affirmation “I will walk every day for a half hour, and eat fresh, healthy foods in smaller portions” is a confident and clear-cut declaration to a healthy new you!

#4. Your goal must have a deadline for completion.

To remain enthusiastic about a goal there must be an expected time of accomplishment; without it there is a lack of urgency and motivation can fade. If unexpected circumstances arise change the plan not the goal.

#5. Goals should have a genuine emotional appeal; establish why it is important to you.

Learn to prioritize your most important goals and objectives based on your sense of desire and passion.

#6. Make your goals difficult yet realistic.

Set goals in such a way that with continuous and diligent effort, you can bring them to fruition. If “Plan A” isn’t working stay cool, the alphabet has 25 more letters!

The only thing standing between you and your goals is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself!
