About Gloria Jean Bannasch

As Wisconsin's only Gottman Certified Couple's Therapist, most of my practice is made up of couples of all types; younger, older, gay, lesbian, cohabitating, newlyweds, and couples who have been together for many years. I work with couples individually using Gottman's evidenced based methods and in couples' workshops created and developed by Doctors John and Julie Gottman at the Gottman Institute. For the first time in Wisconsin, I am excited to be able to offer a psycho-educational workshop for couples, The Art and Science of Love. In the near future, we will also be adding, Bringing Baby Home and The Seven Principles of Marriage couples' workshops (see our website for availability and other details). Couples come to therapy for many reasons:  premarital counseling, infertility complications, adding a baby, blended family adjustment, affair recovery, addiction issues, trust injuries, lack of intimacy and when they simply realize that they are leading parallel lives.

As a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor, I have worked in the field for over thirty years. During my career, I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of clients, dealing with issues including: Addiction, Depression, Life Transitions and Career Development/Transitions. I have been honored to help many clients find their way into recovery as a trained interventionist and as a supporter of 12 Step community. As a board certified executive coach, I assist employers with helping key-leaders rise to their potential, "on-boarding" and working with "derailed" employees. I help individuals to "kick-start" their careers, start their own business or fine-tune the business they already own.

I am fortunate to have several other therapists who practice with me at GJB Health Services: together we compose a multifaceted team, able to work with clients of all ages and varieties. Collectively, our areas of specialization include; Sex Therapy, Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Gender Issues, Transgender issues, Autism Spectrum challenges, child and adolescent concerns and family therapy. Gerald John Bannasch, MD, a psychiatrist,  neurologist,  neuropsychiatrist  and neurophysiologist, joined the team full-time last year and is available for medication management, neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric testing and assessment, assessment and treatment of head injuries and the diagnosis/treatment of seizure disorders. GJB Health Services also has several counselors who have completed their master programs, passed the National Counselor Exam and are now completing the state mandated, 3000 hours of supervision, required for licensure in Wisconsin as a professional counselors. These "Licensed Professional Counselors in Training", see clients at a discounted rates; a great value for clients without insurance or who may be on a limited budget. Change is hard and you don't have to do it alone, let GJB Health Services help!
