Love and Dreams

Do what you love and you will have more time, energy and juice for the people you care most about.

It is the season of the heart making it the ideal time to explore how love and dreams go hand in hand.

Consider this; without love and passion, dreams are merely goals. Goals are useful and essential, and some people even define goals as dreams with a due date. Yet, when it comes to expressing what you love and long for, we are definitely in the territory of the heart.

It’s been amazing at the Create Your Future Now weekends how much quality time we spend talking about what we know vs. what we feel and care about. If you are on a path that values growth and development, which I surely am, then it’s useful, perhaps even essential, to shine the light where our growing edge is or needs to be.

For many of us, this is in the expression of what we love. How vulnerable it can be to even feel it, much less talk or write about it. And yet, courage literally means “from the heart.”

Why is this often a tender topic? Perhaps it has to do with hope, disappointment or loss. Many people won’t even imagine what they truly want because the thought of not having it is too great. And of course, this just perpetuates a self-fulfilling prophecy. In other words, our fear of being let down often keeps us stuck, right where we are.

How can we break out of this cycle? By feeling what we want and finding the courage to act on it. Dreaming, and acting on those dreams is the answer. It is our heart’s desires that can inspire us to take action, to step out into the world in the name of what we truly want, need and hope for. Take the time to connect with what has heart and meaning for you; what you love and really want.

It is our love and our heart’s desires that turn up the flames that inspire or motivate us to take action. To step out into the world of what we truly want, need and hope for.

So what do you love? What do you truly want? What matters to you most at this time in your life; and what are you willing to do in the name of love?

Whether it is love for your family or work, the healing of the planet or a cause that is near and dear to you, nothing makes a dream more powerful or more profound than feeling your passion for it.

Passion is the expression of living on purpose and standing in your purpose, so that the quality of your dreams will change. Purpose is the foundation of all the work I teach so be sure to join us in our Dream University Million Dreams community. This brings more meaning to our lives and more love.

And just to be sure you get the importance of passion, people with passion and dreams live longer, happier, healthier lives. So the next time you or someone you know suggests that dreaming is selfish, remember this. Do what you love and you will have more time, energy and juice for the people you care most about.

“Do what you love and the money will follow.” But also, do what you love and joy will follow too. Follow your heart. It will lead you home.
