John Cena is a world-famous professional wrestler and actor, and the WWE star may now be engaged.

One of the all-time biggest draws within the history of the professional wrestling, John Cena is a 16-time world champion. Signed with WWE for nearly 20 years, Cena has accomplished just about everything that a wrestler can accomplish both in and out of the ring.
In recent years, Cena has been focusing more on film and television projects than WWE. He has not only starred in big budget projects, but has also hosted televised award shows, appeared in major advertising campaigns and been on magazine covers. All while still making time for WWE and Make A Wish Foundation endeavors.
One of the things that has made non-wrestling fans so aware of Cena is his relationship with Shay Shariatzadeh. Cena and Shariatzadeh have made headlines recently, and here's more of what we know about Shariatzadeh, Cena and their relationship, including addressing the question: Is John Cena engaged?
1. Is John Cena engaged to Shay Shariatzadeh?
Cena and Shariatzadeh sparked a lot of rumors earlier this month about the two of them being engaged. One instance was when the two were photographed in San Diego on February 17th and onlookers observed what appeared to be an engagement ring on Shariatzadeh's ring finger.
Just one day later, Cena had tweeted a quote attributed to French author Andre Maurois: "A happy marriage is a long conversation that always seems too short." In February 2020, Cena had also published postings To Instagram about "saying yes" and a bride and groom dancing together.
However, neither Cena or Shariatzadeh has made public comments to confirm or deny an engagement.
2. Cena has been engaged before.
Cena was notably engaged to fellow WWE performer Nikki Bella before meeting Shariatzadeh. He had proposed to Bella — real name Nicole Garcia — in a wrestling ring as part of a WrestleMania following a tag team match they had both been part of.
However, Bella and Cena eventually parted ways and she recently announced both her engagement and her pregnancy. Bella's fiancé, Artem Chigvintsev, was someone she met while competing on Dancing With The Stars.
Supposedly, Cena and Bella both approve of one another's new relationships. Said Bella on an April 2019 podcast: "I am very happy for him. As long as John is happy, I’m happy.”
3. Previous engagement aside, Cena has also been married before.
Cena was married to his high school sweetheart Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 through 2012. Per reports, Huberdeau had felt "blindsided" by Cena's filing for divorce.
Interestingly, Cena's previous fiancé Nikki Bella had also been married to her high school sweetheart prior to her engagement to Cena. Bella had revealed this to Cena during an episode of the E! reality series Total Divas.
4. The details of how Cena and Shariatzadeh met aren't fully known to the general public.
Cena and Shariatzadeh didn't put out a press release to announce the beginning of their relationship or anything of that sort. Rather, the two were spotted together and the media began inquiring about the mystery woman seen being affectionate with Cena in public while in Vancouver.
However, Cena has confirmed that the two first met on the set of a movie which Cena acted in. Shariatzadeh, then a project manager for Motorola off-shoot Avigilon, was on-set.
The two made their official public debut together on the New York City red carpet for Cena's film Playing With Fire in October 2019.
5. Both Cena and Shariatzadeh are known to keep especially busy.
Following close to five years with the aforementioned Avigilon, Shariatzadeh is a product manager with Sonatype. She works within the data integration field. Not part of the entertainment industry, despite meeting Cena on-set, she does not have an IMDb page showing film or television credits.
Speaking of IMDb, Cena has not only been part of dozens of film and television projects besides wrestling for WWE, but he also has at least six projects in production. This includes a Suicide Squad sequel and the ninth installment in the Fast & The Furious series.
6. Shariatzadeh can only be found minimally on social media.
Shariatzadeh does have a publicly-viewable page on LinkedIn. However, she does not appear to have official, public-friendly accounts on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
Cena, on the other hand, has public accounts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. But none of these social media accounts of Cena include any photos with Shariatzadeh from the last few months.
In turn, to find out whether Cena and Shariatzadeth truly are engaged, we may have to continue to follow Cena's Instagram account and hope for some love-related postings which directly show Shariatzadeth and/or a clearly-shown engagement ring.
