On an episode of Very Cavallari, she was getting together to catch up with her former Hills costars Audrina Patridge and Heidi Montag, and she brought up her relationship with camera man Miguel Medina — but neither of the women knew the ilciit relationship had even happened, especially since as far as The Hills viewers were concerned, Cavallari was actually with Brody Jenner at the time.

"We dated for a few months and nobody knew," Cavallari confessed. "And I was dating Brody on the show and meanwhile, Miguel, was like filming it."

2. Their relationship was a secret until it was leaked.

Cavallari went on to explain that eventually, the relationship was leaked thanks to paparazzi, but it's still not something that many fans are aware of.

"We went to Canada and paparazzi got us at the airport a week before we wrapped the show," she explained. "That's how we got caught. I was like, 'We have one more week, you wouldn't even know. We were so professional.'"

In a later confessional on the episode, Cavallari said that she didn't have much else to share on the subject but that it was "fun" and they made sure to stay professional while they were working together.

3. But who is Miguel the camera man? He seems to be pretty private.

In fact, as far as we can tell, it doesn't even seem like Medina has a social media presence, and if he does, he's kept it under wraps pretty well. Despite the fact that he's dated a celebrity who was a pretty big reality star back then (and even now) it seems like he'd prefer to be out of the spotlight ... which makes it hard to find out what he's up to today, and probably helped him and Cavallari keep their relationship low key while it was still happening.

4. Medina has worked on a lot of reality shows.

Aside from The Hills, Medina has worked behind the scenes on many other reality shows, including The X Factor, Bachelor In Paradise, and Barely Famous. Most recently, he's lended his camera operating talents to a show called Brews Brothers, which has yet to air. Even though he's a social media mystery, he's still very active in his career.

5. There was speculation about their relationship back while they were dating.

In 2010, Cavallari and Medina were seen at LAX Airport — the same incident that she mentioned on the show. They were caught with their arms around each other, although neither of them ever commented publicly about their relationship — at least, not until now.

6. At the time, sources confirmed the relationship would not be featured on The Hills

Sources told a print magazine that fans of The Hills wouldn't be informed of her romance with Medina, mostly because of Cavallari's commitment to privacy when it came to her personal life.

"They've been dating for a couple of months. It's very serious," an insider said at the time. "This will definitely not be a part of the show. Kristin won’t let her real private life be a part of the show."
