Partnering off with someone is a major life goal for certain people. Friends fall to the side, relatives slide to the back, and all that matters is this gold standard: the relationship. The rest can fend for themselves.
Many people believe they can't do it alone, that life is meant to be shared with another. And that's a terrific thing... if there's a little more to it than just being someone's partner! Often times, people believe in "relationship" as an ideal; something that is perfect, a lofty expectation.
Maintenance of an ideal often comes with obsession, and that's how people let their own relationships consume them.
And unfortunately, for the zodiac signs who let their relationships consume them, that means a loss of identity comes with their obsession and codependency.
There are couples who cannot go out with other people on their own. It's as if they need their partner for back up, just in case they can't handle being seen as an individual.
They may crave individuality and even independence, but it turns out to be more of an act because those who are consumed by their relationship do not want to change.
1. Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus doesn't like to be alone. Oh, they may be incredibly individual types, filled with their own personality and charm, but being alone is something they cannot tolerate without getting antsy and nervous.
They don't always mate for life, but they do try, and much like wolves, they dedicate their love and devotion to the one person they've chosen. This person becomes the reason for living; they make choices that involve the other in every move they make, and if there's an option to take their person with them, they do it, unflinchingly.
2. Leo (July 23 - August 22)
One would think that Leo was not the kind to be consumed by anyone other than the reflection in the mirror, but the truth is that Leo is a possessive lover who demands loyalty and devotion. Leo does not want their person to look at anyone else; they are supremely jealous in partnerships.
Worrying about what their partner is up to 24/7 makes Leo lose their mind. They are suspicious and accusatory, and they easily let the relationship consume them body and soul in paranoia and possessiveness.
3. Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius doesn't fall into relationships easily, but when they do, it's usually as a result of much obsessing, stalking, following and spying on. Aquarius is thrilled by the idea of mystery, and they look for it in their partner; something to believe as "superior" or better than others.
Once they nail that person into their relationship slot, that person becomes the meaning of their life. There are no friends, nor are their family get-togethers; there's obsession and intensity, until one or both partners eventually die of boredom.
4. Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
I know of two Sagittarians who are incapable of socializing unless the other one is nearby. In fact, when they do go for the big one (an outing sans partner), they usually end up freaking out and phoning in several times just to make sure the one they left behind is still alive and able to survive the minutes it might take to get back home to.
Sagittarius are codependent to a fault, and virtually impossible to separate from their partners.
5. Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini has a vested interest in relationships; they are there to fix the other person. They seek out broken people who are needy and confused, and they ply them with their own Gemini thoughts.
Gemini is uninterested in an equal relationship — they want an indentured servant, a captive, someone who will rely upon them for all the intelligent choices that need to be made. The irony is that Gemini loses themselves completely in trying to make another person lose themself in them.
They are obsessed with fixing broken people, which may imply they are hopelessly broken themselves.
6. Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo easily gives themselves over to their relationship with the attitude of, "Finally, I can rest." This is a naturally lazy sign, and when they snag their mate, they sign on for life. It's a breakfast, lunch and dinner affair, and if they socialize, they do it together.
Nobody in a relationship with Virgo gets to go out on their own, and Virgo has no interest in friends. While this sign is self-sufficient and reliable, they relinquish all responsibility when their partner is around. One might even assume they marry so that someone else can do the hard chores.
