Who is Tori Spelling's Mom? New Details About Candy Spelling

Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott have their hands full with five children. But they still manage to find time to be romantic as they were recently spotted walking in Los Angeles showing PDA. This comes just after Tori’s mom, Candy Spelling, told reporters she doesn’t want the couple to have any more children. Candy was blunt about her feelings when it comes to Tori and Dean’s family, parenting and the fact that they may decide to have more children.

"I just hope that she quits having kids, already," Candy, 73, told HollywoodLife. When asked if Tori, 45, may consider having another child with McDermott, 52, the author wasn’t afraid to share her thoughts. “She hasn’t told me, but you know she’s really considering it.”

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star and McDermott already have five children — Liam, 11, Stella, 10, Hattie, 7, Finn, 6, and Beau, 1. Not long ago it was reported that Spelling was under stress related to her financial situation and her troubling marriage. But the couple have managed to keep their marriage intact. And it's also not the first time Candy has told Tori to stop having kids. In 2017, she told Us Weekly: “I hope she’s finished, but you never know.”

Whether or not Tori and Dean are seriously considering expanding their brood, Candy is already a proud grandmother.

"They are so cute and they are the best behaved children. I am always so proud when I go out for dinner with them. We go out every Sunday night as a family."

Candy also gave props to both her daughter Tori and Dean for parenting such wonderful grandchildren.

"I don’t know how she has made it happen, but I think it’s because she does a lot with them and so does Dean,” Candy said. “They are great parents, they are both very present all the time and it’s the consistency and presence that makes all the difference."

When asked whether she and Tori are feuding, she replied:  “It’s just not true. Just look at my Instagram and all the different Sundays that I have with my family and the kids, you just can’t listen to those rumors. There is no feuding between Tori and I. I am very, very proud of her she’s really has done amazing things, she is recreating it herself. She has a fantastic skin care line and I’m just really happy for her.”

So who is Candy Spelling? Here's everything we know about Tori Spelling's mom.

1. She’s a NY Times bestselling author.

She is a regular columnist for The Huffington Post, Los Angeles Confidential, and TMZ.com (Spelling It Out). Her autobiography, Stories from Candyland, was released in March 2009. The book hit The New York Times Best Seller list two weeks after publication.  Candy wrote about her volatile relationship with her daughter in her memoir, Candy at Last.

"I am by no means saying that I am the perfect mother now or I didn't make mistakes when my children were growing up. In therapy I learned that I was passive-aggressive and that I also had poor communication skills," Candy writes in her book. "Having said that, I also believe that there comes a time when you have to stop blaming your parents. I have learned from my own journey that at some point you have to take responsibility for your own actions and attitudes."

"During the year we were estranged, it was excruciating not hearing from Tori and not being able to get ahold of her," she wrote.

Candy admitted she and her daughter have had their share of differences. "Tori and I are a work in progress and probably always will be," Candy once said. "I notice that the more my self-esteem expands, the less patience I have for the pursuit cycle she creates when she shuts me out. We have a pattern, and until we can break it hand-in-hand, this is going to be the little dance she and I do together."

2. She’s a Broadway producer.

Candy is currently producing the King Lear Broadway production opening on Feb. 28, 2019, as well as Tootsie in April 2019. She's also produced The Color Purple, Carousel and The Iceman Cometh on Broadway.

3. She was married to TV mogul Aaron Spelling.

She married producer and screenwriter Aaron Spelling in 1968. His works included long-running popular series Charlie's Angels (1976–81), The Love Boat (1977–86), Hart to Hart (1979–84), Dynasty (1981–89), Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990–2000), 7th Heaven (1996–2007), and Charmed (1998–2006).

Candy and Aaron had two children; daughter Victoria Davey ("Tori") (born 1973) and son Randy Gene Spelling (born 1978). Candy also has two grandchildren from her son Randy.

She also sits on the board of trustees of American Humane.

5. She's excited for the reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210.

Candy recently said that she thinks the reboot of the popular TV show is great, and that Tori is excited for the return.
