Who Is Krysten Ritter's Boyfriend? New Details About Adam Granduciel — Including How They're Expecting A Baby!

Krysten Ritter walked down the red carpet with a pregnant glow as she showed off her baby bump for the first time.

The Jessica Jones star wore a fitted red lace gown to the Oscars on Sunday, revealing she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Adam Granduciel, 40, who accompanied her to the annual awards ceremony. Although Netflix just canceled Jessica Jones, Ritter, 37, has something bigger and better to look forward to — her first child.

"Taken a few weeks back at the table read for our SERIES FINALE," she wrote on Instagram. "I love these people to the moon and back. It has been a dream to play Jessica alongside my amazing cast and the best crew in the business for these past 5 years. I am so grateful for every second of it. We have THE BEST fans. You guys mean the world to me and I appreciate you beyond words. The final season of #JessicaJones is coming later this year and I am proud of how we complete JJ’s journey. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Stay tuned and more to come."

Ritter has not directly addressed her pregnancy but we're excited for her regardless!

So who is Krysten Ritter's boyfriend, Adam Ganduciel? Here's what we know about the soon-to-be dad.

1. He is the frontman for War on Drugs.

Granduciel's father urged him to become a carpenter, but the musician was determined to make it in the industry, even in his 30s. Granduciel has been the singer in his band War on Drugs, which shot to fame in 2014 after the release of Lost in the Dream, since 2005.

The Philly group is often compared to Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen’s The River, and Tom Petty. They are on their fourth album.

2. He's been dating Ritter since 2014.

Ritter and Ganduciel first met at one of his band's shows in 2014 and were officially spotted as a couple that August.

"It started with her being a fan of the band and then somehow she got in touch with him and went to some shows," an insider told Us Magazine at the time.

Now, the lovebirds are embarking on a journey into parenthood!

3. His band won a Grammy in 2018.

Last January, War on Drugs' album A Deeper Understanding won the Grammy for Best Rock Album.

"I don’t think we thought we were gonna win. Well, a couple weeks ago I did say, 'I think we might win,' but that was also me trying to be the leader and everything," Granduciel told Pitchfork last year. "I didn’t really know, I just knew we were psyched to be on that list. I had something in the back of my mind that felt like maybe we’d win, but that didn’t change the fact that I was definitely surprised. Obviously, we were psyched about it and honored."

4. He suffers from anxiety.

Prior to his band's success, Granduciel suffered from anxiety, depression, and paranoia.

"I found myself totally isolated, emotionally and physically, from both myself and my community," Granduciel told The Guardian in 2014, adding that he felt alone in the city he grew up in. "It's a choice you've made and I wouldn't change it, but you feel alienated from people. I'd see people but it was all just fleeting hellos, weird drunken nights. I didn't know what I'd become or what I wanted out of myself. It wasn't making me happy and I didn't understand why. It wasn't like these were things no one had ever gone through before, but I'd never gone through them."

Although he tried to get back into his daily routine and snap out of it, Granduciel said it just got worse.

"It started to spiral into emotional distress and physical manifestations of depression and paranoia," he said. "So that started to affect me negatively."

Over the next year, though, his life took a turn for the best and he was able to climb out of the funk he had gotten stuck in during the hustle. When Lost in the Dream became a hit, the touring turned out to be a positive experience for him. It helped him ease his mind and focus on things other than his anxiety.

5. He was born Adam Granofsky.

Granduciel's given name is Adam Granofsky. According to an interview with Noisey, Granduciel's high school French teacher pointed out that Granduciel was a literal translation of his last name.

He kept this in the back of his mind and used it years later when he began recording cassettes of his guitar playing. He used the name to label his work, admitting that hiding behind a different name helped him deal with anxiety.
