Tal Peleg is an Israeli makeup artist who does more than just apply makeup. Instead, she creates miniature pieces of art. Her inspiration comes from her love of movies, books, cats, and issues that she holds close to her heart.
But she uses the canvas of an eyelid to speak out against bullying and remind people to never forget the Holocaust and its horrors.
On her Instagram account, Peleg shares the inspiration for each piece and personal anecdotes.
"I'm all about cats, but I only started loving cats when I was about 19," she says, in reference to some of her pieces which feature her cat Neo, or her friend Simone's deceased cat.
Her work is absolutely stunning with its attention to detail, spectacular use of color, and the ability to tell a story using mascara, shadow, and eyeliner.
Tal Peleg has created something radically new and beautiful:
1. You'll always be in my heart.
This eye-art was created in remembrance of vocalist Simone Simons, whose cat, Minou, passed away. In this piece, Simone and Minou have one last moment together.
2. True to the anti-bullying message.
Though not on an eyelid, the message is clear: "I wish there will be less cases of bullying."
3. This is what a child's nightmares are made of.
One of our most memorable childhood fears is brought to life on this eyelid.
4. A reference to Greek mythology
This one portrays the rise and fall of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun.
5. Ginger is the new black.
Ginger cat Neo, named after the character in The Matrix.
6. A beautiful take on The Princess and the Pea.
The details are incredible, right down to the look on the princess's face.
7. Even children are artists
"When you use your imagination, you can stay an artist, no matter your age."
10. The stars are like blooming flowers.
The Little Prince, one of the most beloved children's book, is the subject of this piece.
11. A beautiful moonlit night
The moon shines through this stormy night to guide those that brave the rain and the darkness.
12. Frankly, my dear ...
Gone With the Wind, but for a few moments, it's a piece of art.
13. Anne Frank
"Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart." -Anne Frank.
