Manhattan Love Story is the first pilot show to hit the chopping block. USA Today officially reported on Friday that the Analeigh Tipton and Jake McDorman show is canceled. In fact, MLS was canceled before Selfie, which is really saying something about the show.
Personally, I found the quirky comedy kind of cute, even though I would never openly admit it to you if you asked, but the idea behind the show was simple: It showed dating through the inner thoughts of a boy and a girl.
The story begins when Dana moves to the big city for a new junior writing position. She is living with her friend Amy and Amy's husband David. Amy and David set Dana up with David's brother, Peter, and the whole plot focusing on their blossoming relationship and obviously tells the inner thoughts of those situations. Originally slated for 13 episodes, the show made it through four weeks before being officially taken off the air.
The problem with the show is that none of it is believable. Seriously, as someone who moved to New York four months ago, I know what it's like to be single, starting a brand new job in a city where you hardly know anyone, and it's nothing like Manhattan Love Story suggests. Here are 11 lies that Manhattan Love Story taught us:
1. David and Amy's apartment.
First of all, it's not even explained what Amy does, but David makes trophies for a living. There is no way that making trophies for a living earns a giant apartment like that in Manhattan. I live in a shoebox paying $1,325 and I have a roommate that pays the same, so nothing upsets me more than when living situations in TV shows make zero sense.

2. No one who makes trophies is hot.
I'm sorry trophy makers, but no one in the history of the trophy business has ever looked like Jake McDorman, nor got as many women as he did.

3. Guys like Peter don't just give up douchey-ness.
Seriously, four episodes in and he's all of a sudden a refined douchebag? Really ABC?

4. Coworkers don't just hate you for no reason.
I've had lots of jobs in my life. Started from 16 and now I'm 25, and no one has ever treated me like outright s*it like they did to Dana. Clearly, her hiring is not her fault, so everyone being jerks seem really over the top. Sure, there can be sh*tty people at work, but never an entire office.

5. No one is that awkward.
In New Girl, Jess is adorably awkward, but not to the point of cringeworthy embarrassing. Those things happen to people once every few years, no one actually does something super uncomfortable every time they talk to someone.

6. People like Amy and David are happy.
Amy is the worst. Seriously, personalities like hers there's no way that's a happy marriage.

7. The hispanic sister?!
What is happening here? Peter and Dave's sister is clearly hispanic and 100 percent unrelated to them. If she's adopted, they should say so.

8. This is what people are thinking on a date.
If you're going to base an entire show on inner thoughts, those inner thoughts should be accurate to what people in their 20s are really thinking.

9. Things will work out after a bad date.
Honestly, I know they are tied together through living situations and family, but if any first date went like that in real life, these two would never be speaking again.

10. Finding love though food poisoning.
Food poisoning is not just vomiting, there's lots of poop involved. The fact that they stayed the night any where near each other with food poisoning and still wanted to have sex the next morning is false. It's just all so very false.

11. Women judge purses on the NYC streets.
Okay, opening scene where Peter is judging women based off their looks while Dana is judging purses. First of all, I judge clothing over bags and I am often judging men on their looks too so that was a little presumptuous and stereotypical of them.
