Throwing a Halloween bash? Make it spectacular with Halloween cocktails that ooze, fizz, and give your party a spooky vibe.
Halloween is the best time of the year to go above and beyond. There’s no such thing as being too extra when it comes to this party. If we learned only one thing from Mean Girls, it’s that Halloween parties are an official anything goes zone.
That said, you don’t need lingerie and animal ears to take your party to the next level. Whether it’s costumes, decorations, or libations, don’t be afraid to turn up the volume this Halloween. (Save your fears for the vampires and witches. Or, you know, the ex who showed up to the party unexpectedly.)
The best part of Halloween as a kid? Trick or treating. The best part of Halloween as an adult? Drinking! (Which, come to think of it, also happens to be the best part of most holidays as an adult.)

1. Jello Shot Eyeballs
2 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin
1 cup canned, unsweetened coconut milk
1 cup Malibu rum
1/2 cup sugar
Sprinkle the gelatin over the coconut milk in a saucepan and let sit for a few minutes. Heat over low heat, stirring, until the gelatin starts to dissolve. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Cool until just warm.
Stir in the Malibu. Pour into spherical ice mold that has been sprayed with cooking spray. After chilling and unmolding, paint on details with gel or paste food coloring.
For added grossness, use a large syringe to squirt some red (gelled) Jell-O into the center of the eyeball, or some other thick filling, like pudding. Insert the syringe carefully and squirt the filling out slowly so it doesn’t explode the eyeball.

2. Gremlin Lemonade
Margarita mix (Tequila optional) or lemonade (optional)
Grenadine
Skewer
1 Kiwi
1 lemon
1 lime
1 orange
Maraschino cherry with stem
Toothpicks
Serve chilled margarita mix on the rocks and add a splash of grenadine. Skewer a slice of kiwi for the face. Cut a cherry in half and attach with pieces of toothpick for eyes. Slip the skewer into the beverage glass. Add the cherry stem for a smile and twists of lemon, lime, and orange peel for hair.

3. Monster Mash Slush
1 orange
1/2 of a medium honeydew melon, seeded, peeled, and cubed (3 cups)
2/3 cup tequila
1/2 cup orange liqueur
4 cups ice cubes
Coarse sugar or black sea salt
1 16 ounce bottle lemon-lime carbonated beverage, chilled
2 - 3 tablespoons grenadine syrup
Cut orange in half. Cut one half into wedges; wrap and chill overnight. Juice the remaining half; set juice aside.
In a blender combine honeydew melon, tequila, orange liqueur, and the reserved orange juice; cover and blend until smooth. With blender running, add ice cubes, a few at a time, blending until mixture becomes slushy. Pour into a 2-quart freezer container. Cover; freeze overnight.
To serve, rub the reserved orange wedges around rims of eight glasses. Dip rims in coarse sugar or black sea salt to coat; set aside. Using a heavy spoon, scrape frozen mixture; scoop mixture into prepared glasses. Add 1/4 cup of the chilled lemon-lime beverage to each glass. Drizzle with grenadine.

4. Kiss of the Vampire
1/2 oz vodka
3 oz pink champagne
Cranberry ginger ale, to taste
1/2 oz lemon or lime juice
Pink food dye, optional
Corn syrup, optional
To line the glass with the "blood drips" mix the corn syrup with the pink food dye. Use a spoon to drip the corn syrup down the inside edge of the glass. You can freeze the glasses to prevent the syrup from running but I like the really drippy effect rather than just keeping it on the edge.
Place the vodka and lime juice in the bottom of your champagne flute and top with pink champagne. Let the bubbles fizz out and then fill to the edge with cranberry gingerale.
If serving with dry ice, pop a small pebble-sized piece in each glass and be sure to instruct your guests to wait until it is done bubbling out before imbibing.

5. Pina Ghoulada
For the "Blood":
3 tablespoons corn syrup
1/4 teaspoons red food coloring
For the drink:
20 ounces pineapple juice
1 can (15 ounces) cream of coconut
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup orange juice
10 ounces good-quality rum
Pour the corn syrup in a shallow bowl. Dip a toothpick into the food coloring, and stir a very small amount into the syrup to combine. Hold a glass by the stem, dip rim into the syrup mixture, and turn glass slowly, coating entire rim. Turn the glass upright, allowing mixture to drip down sides. Dip the remaining glasses. Set aside.
Whisk together drink ingredients. Place 2 1/2 cups ice in a blender, and add 1 cup drink mixture. Blend until smooth; add more pineapple juice if mixture is too thick. Repeat with remaining ice and mixture. Carefully pour into prepared glasses; serve.

6. The Black Cat Cocktail
1 oz blue curacao
1 oz vodka
3 oz lemon lime soda
1 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
Lime twist for garnish
Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Add curacao, vodka and lime juice. Shake until mixed well. Add soda and stir. Pour cranberry juice into a tall glass.
Over the back of a spoon, gently strain the mixed ingredients over the cranberry juice, being careful not to completely mix the two for presentation. Serve with a cocktail stirrer and a lime twist for garnish.
