There's a new (A-List!) Fifty Shades of Grey casting rumor making its rounds ... and this one features a certain ex of Tom Cruise.
Katie Holmes is the latest actress allegedly eager to sign on to the film—which has recently gone into delayed production mode after Jamie Dornan replaced Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey and Wolverine screenwriter Mark Bomback came in to fix up the script.
According to reports, Holmes is keen on playing Elena Lincoln, Christian Grey's longtime business and sex partner with a wildly kinky side. Katie Holmes? Kinky? Really?
Elena's character is described as having platinum blond hair, and sources say brunette Katie doesn't mind brightening up her locks if it means joining the franchise. Apparently, she's looking at this role as her opportunity to shock audiences and reinvent herself after being best known as Joey Potter and Mrs. Tom Cruise.
Given Holmes hasn't seen box office success in years, perhaps playing Christian Grey's S&M mentor wouldn't be such a bad thing? Close your eyes, Suri.
