Free condoms? Abstinence-only education? Shaming campaigns? There's a lot our country does to try to prevent teenage pregnancy. But what's helping (and what's actually hurting) us?

Contrary to popular belief, last year had the lowest teen birth rate ever. But, it's not a consistent drop across the country. Red states have higher teen birth rates and Texas's rate even went up in 2011 while most of the country was going down.

So what works and what doesn't? Our friends at The Daily Beast did an examination of strategies, including everything from free contraception to slashing family planning funding.
