Kelly Clarkson recently announced her decision to cancel her big country wedding and elope with fiance Brandon Blackstock.

The Since You've Been Gone singer's wedding was scheduled for the end of October, and even included Blake Shelton as officiant. However, the wedding coupled with the release of her Christmas album proved too much for Clarkson.

"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope," she told People magazine. "We just got so overwhelmed by it -- all the decisions."

Clarkson informed guests of her decision to cancel the wedding with an engagement photo and this message: 'Thank you so much for understanding, but it's just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister.'

This is definitely not the first time a celebrity has eloped. From Jessica Alba to Gwyneth Paltrow, many Hollywood A-Listers have tossed the veil and tied the knot in small, intimate ceremonies with no fuss.

And who can forget Britney Spears' 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander?
