You Want Your Wedding WHERE?!?

A look at how a winery wedding changed my perspective

You Want Your Wedding Where?!

I’ve heard this response many times when talking with parents or friends of those whose decision came to hold their wedding at a winery. To be honest, I’ve even muttered it before in regards to a friend’s wedding. Of all the beautiful chapels, parks and venues offered in any city it’s hard to understand why someone would want to celebrate one of the most important days of their life in a field with grapes. Now that I’ve been to a winery wedding, I know exactly why people choose them. Here are three of the most convincing benefits of having your wedding at a winery: Location, Location, Location Located at Bel Vino Winery in Temecula County, California, there was no wonder why, on initial appearance, this was the place to be.

The weather was a perfect 72 degrees and the wide-open fields were absolutely breathtaking. I’ve seen some beautiful outdoor weddings before, but this was nothing short of spectacular. One of the biggest mistakes people make when planning their weddings is when they plan an outdoor event in a location that has the potential of questionable weather. Temecula County is consistently shooting in the 60s and 70s with only three rainy months. Even in the rainy months they’re only averaging an inch or so a month. Get the right location and everything else falls right into place. Atmosphere As you can see from the picture, the rustic look has an almost European feel to it. The whole place is warm and inviting, and it’s almost like the set of a movie it seems so surreal. The lobby of the winery felt like a five-star hotel, and the earthy tones made me feel incredibly soothed. I also loved the idea of huge wine barrels lining the wall like an Italian winery in Naples. There was an elaborate courtyard prepared with tables and chairs, and they also fitted a makeshift dance floor to the yard—allowing for some of the most nostalgic entertainment I’ve had in years.

Food and Drink One of the biggest critiques people get about weddings is the food and drink served. You ask anyone what they remember about their own wedding and I can guarantee you everyone remembers the food that was served. I can’t tell you how many times I left a reception or party saying how great or terrible the food was. The bride will always (let’s hope) look fantastic and the ceremony will forever (again… hopefully) be emotional and touching, but the one x-factor to any party is wedding and toasting. At a winery, the drinks are out-of-this-world great and the caterer was exceptional. All-around this event changed my mind about winery weddings.
