With all of the chemical antidepressants out there trying to force better moods upon us, it seems nature had a powerful mood improver for us all along: semen.

In a recent study reveals the man-goo has a powerful and positive effect on women's mental health. Now there's an interesting sex fact for you!

SUNY Albany conducted this very curious research, and their study points to the amazing healing powers of human seminal fluid, aka semen.

"Semen is known to contain such 'mood-altering chemicals' as estrone and oxytocin, which elevate mood; cortisol, which promotes affection; serotonin, which acts as an antidepressant; and melatonin, which induces sleep," say the researchers.

In a survey of nearly 300 women, researchers found that those who have oral sex or engaged in unprotected sex were "happier than those who practiced safe sex." Study outcomes indicated that women who regularly practiced safe sex felt just as depressed as those who were abstinent.

Of course, this is hardly license to run out and have unprotected sex with strangers. STDs are a major problem in America, and using a condom is the BEST way to protect against infection.

Because while a dose of healthy semen every now and then might keep the blues away, there's nothing as depressing as a contracting a bad case of Chlamydia. Or worse.
