5 Reasons We're Excited To See The Stripper Movie "Magic Mike"

Magic Mike on Entertainment Weekly

The new cover of Entertainment Weekly reminds us why we're itching for it to be June 29!

Magic Mike is a film about strippers. Starring men.

Now that we have your attention ladies, we think we need to clarify exactly why we're so excited to see this movie when it hits theaters on June 29. First off, it's directed by Steven Soderberg, the talented man behind Traffic, Erin Brockovich and the Ocean's Eleven films. So prepare to see some ass with a side of class in this story, which follows a stripper named Mike (Channing Tatum) who schools a newcomer in how to writhe around on stage naked for lots and lots of dollar bills.

Oh, you need more reasons than that? OK, here are five:

1. The man candy
Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street), Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four), Matt Bomer (White Collar), Matthew McConaughey (you should know him) and Joe Manganiello (True Blood) – all in one movie. That is reason one. Exclusive! Channing Tatum On Skinny Dipping, Romance & 'The One'

2. Those ridiculous bodies
All the fellas above are known for having picture perfect physiques, but in Magic Mike, we're going to see these studs like never before. As Matthew McConaughey tells The Advocate, "Everybody was pretty damn ripped already, but boy, if you really want to get men in great shape, just tell them they're going to play male strippers in a movie and have their sh*t onscreen for the rest of time. Vanity, baby." Mmm... just glance up and soak in Joe Manganiello's shiny abs now.

3. The sexy stripteases
If you've seen the trailer (watch it below), then you know we're in for a wild ride. We're talking tight cop costumes that are easily ripped off, raunchy lap dances and sexy solo stripteases. McConaughey describes of his first go at making the ladies drool: "At first it was scary as hell, but then it became like a drug, and I couldn't wait to do it again. Look, I love to dance, but I've never been a stripper. Channing's one of the best hip-hop street dancers I've ever seen, and I didn't want to challenge his style, so I worked on my own strengths. I also knew that my dance had to be the dirtiest. It had to be wonderfully filthy." Good, 'cause we don't wanna to be clean!
