Heidi Montag Files For Divorce

Speidi split appears to be sticking. Can such a great thing actually be true?!

The thing we thought would not happen is actually happening: Heidi Montag has filed for divorce from Spencer Pratt. People reports that Heidi, who has been separated from Spencer for two months, cited irreconcilable differences. Heidi's lawyer said, "The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in an out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce." This...is so shocking. We are making our shocked face. Heidi Montag And Spencer Pratt Break Up

Heidi and Spencer married in April of last year and separated at the beginning of June. In the course of the marriage, they appeared on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, "wrote" a "book," and became international punchlines for crazy fameballing. In addition, Spencer maintained his hideous beard and Heidi underwent an extensive plastic surgery makeover that turned her into a human Real Doll. And then The Hills ended and, we guess, so did their reason for pretending to like each other. Poll: Should Spencer Have Stopped Heidi's Surgeries?

The beginning of the end seems to have been when Heidi fired Spencer as her manager. Reconciliation looked more unlikely when he told People, "She thought I'd burn out of this, but no, I'm still the same Spencer who went on The Hills to be famous." And maybe the filing is due to Heidi's family finally getting through to her—just days ago her father, Bill, told Radar Online that he was worried about his daughter and hadn't spoken to her since March. Filing for divorce looks like a step in the right direction for Heidi. Hopefully it will stick—how many separations and filings did it take for Sean Penn and Robin Wright to finally break up? She will, however, find out that it's harder to divorce that new nose if she decides it's getting too involved with crystals and buying a zillion guns.
