The singer releases a statement regarding the alleged attack on Rihanna.
It appears that Chris Brown is starting to break his silence about the events of last Sunday. As we reported, the singer has been keeping a low profile since the alleged attack on his girlfriend, singer Rihanna. In a statement released through his publicist, the singer says, "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person." The statement goes on to refute some of the false reports and statements issued on blogs and Facebook, stating, "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
As of right now, we understand that Rihanna is resting with her family in her native Barbados and that the Los Angeles Police Department is continuing their investigation into the alleged events that transpired that evening. Brown remains free on $50,000 bail at this time after being charged with suspicion of making criminal threats. Whatever the truth may be, our thoughts are with Rihanna and we hope that justice will be done so everyone can peacefully resume their lives. Feel better, Rihanna, and please don’t stop the music.
