Family disputes reports of a holiday engagement.
If any of you were trying to figure out what to get Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen for their wedding, hold off heading to Target’s Club Wedd. According to our friends over at The Superficial, the engagement reports might just be rumor. Tom Brady’s father went straight to The Boston Globe to refute the reports that his son asked the supermodel to marry him on a private jet filled with four dozen white roses on Christmas Eve. His father states, “We don't know a thing about it. Nobody told me. We talked to him and there's nothing to say. It's rumor, rumor, rumor. It must be a slow news day.” Considering Tom sounds like the kind of person who would talk to his parents and Gisele's parents before pulling this kind of thing, it might be true.
Now, before you get upset and start tearing up pictures of the happy couple, this could be an elaborate hoax to throw paparazzi and the news off the trail. I mean, if you had thousands of cameras planted on you at any given moment, you wouldn’t want the prying eyes of the public all up in your wedding business, especially since rumors of the couple scouting reception locations had already started a while ago. Having a member of your family state that it’s all a vicious rumor might stave off investigative reporters going through your wedding planner’s trash and staking out reception areas. If this is what they’re doing, they might be buying themselves some time and some privacy.
Something else to consider is the fact that Brady's knee injury will keep him off the field. ESPN.com reports that the quarterback might need an additional surgery, which could keep him off the field for another season. If that's the case, that is plenty of time to plan a wedding and have a honeymoon.
When you get engaged, it’s such a happy time in your life that you would think you would want to share it with everyone. However, as many people who get engaged learn, everyone has an opinion on what you should do with your wedding, every family member assumes they have an invitation and it can get kind of stressful. Multiply this by fame, paparazzi stalking your every move and your wedding party possibly consisting of Victoria’s Secret models and the New England Patriots and any effort to buy some privacy and a little room to work out the details is completely understandable.
Although, that being said, between pro football players and lingerie models, this should be one Hell of a party. We’ll keep you posted.
