This couple went from open marriage to monogamy.

Love Buzz loves a good open marriage story. This one comes from Page Six Magazine, which features the story of Neal and Claire Boulton. According to the mag,

"Over the past year and a half, Neal has been portrayed in NYC gossip columns as: 1) The happily married editor in chief of Men's Fitness magazine. 2) A secretly gay guy who had an affair with Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner and was hospitalized after mysteriously leaving his job. 3) A bisexual, unemployed adulterer. 4) Most recently, the secretly straight but still slutty editor in chief of the gay publication Genre whose poor wife took his cheating ass back."

So what's the real story? Neal and Claire are both bisexual, and during the early part of their marriage they each had same-sex liaisons outside their relationship. When the couple got pregnant they moved out of New York City to pursue a quieter life, but moved back to NYC soon after, so Neal could work at American Media, where he relaunched the National Enquirer, was editor-in-chief of Men's Fitness and regularly flew across the country to promote American Media's various titles. Although Neal made a lot of dough, the glitzy job was hard on the union. Neal was away from home for half of every month, partying Hollywood-style in LA.

How did it end? Well, it involves kissing the aforementioned Jann Wenner, trying to "drink, snort and smoke my wife away," and rehab. You'll have to read the full article to get the all details—we'll skip straight to the end: Neal and Claire are now happily married—and happily monogamous.

"Our kids understand that we have loved men and women, but that the key is love—and respect. I prefer to be open because when sexuality and sex are kept close to the vest, people start making up their own truths," said Neal.
