About Erin Johnston
I have been in the field of clinical social work and providing psychotherapy services to wide variety of clients for the past twenty years. Throughout my career, I have focused on problem solving and conflict resolution, crisis intervention, employee assistance programs, and managed care. My experience encompasses both profit and non-profit sectors; and includes management, management consulting, and the teaching of social work at the baccalaureate level, peer training, and direct service.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BASW) in 1991 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 1994 from the University of Kentucky, College of Social Work. In 2006, I aquired my mediator certification from the School of Continuing Studies of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
In addition to my work as a therapist and mediator, I taught classes in social work at University of Illinois at Chicago, and have been a writer and contributor to About.com, a New York Times company, creating the informational borderline personality disorder guide site (bpd.about.com).
