About Sylvia Lafair

Sylvia has hiked the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu, eaten indiscernible stew in the Amazon, and bungee jumped in New Zealand. When she lands long enough, she writes books, gives speeches, and leads seminars. Sylvia, ever the pioneer, retooled her skills as a noted family therapist to become a leadership education and development expert and executive coach. In the workplace, she helps teams find the sweet spot of cooperation and productivity.

Dr. Lafair’s programs and executive coaching help decrease conflict and increase cooperation in the workplace. Her award winning book Don’t Bring It to Work (Jossey-Bass 2009) is listed as one of the top nine books for every boss to read and as one of the top twenty books for emerging leaders. It has also won ten awards nationally and internationally.

As a noted authority on leadership and a consultant to family firms, Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs, her message is unique and timely; her insights universal and relevant. Office drama and politics, human resource issues, absenteeism, and litigation often increase when stress is high in companies.

Sylvia engages audiences with her natural storytelling ability. She weaves her knowledge about personal relationships and business culture into easily understood messages, using both humor and suspense, leaving audiences with information to take back to the office and immediately put into practice.
