Hello, my name is David and I am a Loveaholic. I work as a love and relationship coach and author. I live in the beautiful city of Denver, Colorado and my favorite conversations to have are about the soul.
When I was just out of high school, I toured the world as a singer and spent lots of time on a plane or a tour bus. After high school I went to live in Vancouver, Canada, where I met some amazing and talented people in the music business. While I was there I was offered an interesting job as an actor, but because I was young and didn't know the immigration laws well enough, I turned the job down.
I returned to Colorado where I attended beauty school and worked as a hair stylist for 18 years. I also worked as an educator for a large color house, Christian Dior, a reality show on MTV and the Miss America Pageant circuit. It was fun working in the beauty biz because it gave me the opportunity to realize what it was that I really wanted to do. I loved talking to my clients more than doing their hair. It was like a 1-2 hour therapy session and it fed my soul to the core. It was then that I knew what my passion was.
I remember the other stylists making comments about how people always "opened up" to me and I finally decided I would go back to school and get my degree so that I could help people who were struggling with life's issues. I was very blessed to be accepted to an amazing Buddhist college called Naropa. I loved the people, the location and the contemplative education that I got there and I still use a lot of the things I learned about meditation and mindfulness in my coaching practice today.
I also wrote a book called LOVEAHOLIC which was the child of many break ups and lots of self-discovery. I believe that all of us have the strong capability to love, but some of us never learned how to express that love in a healthy way and if we have any sort of abandonment issues at all, those expressions of love become destructive. My passion is to help people who are wanting true love in their lives to wake up to their own powerful expressions of love and to modify them so they are healthy and honest.
We all have the ability to be our most authentic selves and I love to work with people who are ready to discover their optimal place of power in the world.
