A domestic disturbance in Texas involves an eaten and beloved pet.
According to Yahoo News, a fight between former common-law spouses in Pasadena, Texas took a turn for the ugly and their pets suffered the consequences. The non-couple were in an argument over the ownership of some jewelry that the man had gifted to the woman but took back after the split. The woman took her revenge on the family pets. In a burst of Zeus-ian comeuppance, she kidnapped and the goldfish from his home, then fried and ate them. The man was incensed and called the police. Lubbock TV personalities decide to marry each other.
Evidently, romance is not dead. At least in Lubbock, Texas. A weatherman from the local CBS station snuck (it's not really a word) onto the set of the local ABC news show and proposed to his anchor girlf. Evidently, Matt Laubhan had worked for the ABC affiliate (KMAC) and began dating anchor Emily Leonard before jumping ship to the Eye (CBS's logo looks like an eye). Enjoy the show: Um, we're pretty impressed by the cajones that Matt Laubhan has (and if we're just going on what we saw in the video, this dude is not easily embarrassed) but … Read More
What are the odds?
The Telegraph recently reported on an interesting family: A set of identical twin women met and married a set of identical twin men. Then one of the couples produced a set of twin boys. We'd draw a diagram if we had the Web capability.
One of the twin couples (Note: We could easily use each of their names from this point forward, but is there really any point? It'll just be confusing.) met in 1998 at Twin Day, the annual Twin festival. (The other twins sure got lucky: Their siblings totally hooked them up. Or they're just lazy.)

Evidently, the 14th Amendment was in jeopardy.
Texas is one of the last states to have a ban on sex toys. But the 5th Court Of Appeals has ruled that this is in violation of the 14th Amendment. Which is, of course, the right to an attorney. If you think about it, we’ve all probably referred to a lawyer as a dildo before so… The application of the 14th Amendment has more to do with protection of privacy, which is sort of touched on in Article 1 of that Amendment.
Oddly enough, most of the 14th Amendment has to do with punishing insurrection (which is, oddly … Read More

AUSTIN — Lovebirds wishing to tie the knot would pay $100 for a marriage license under a bill the Texas House tentatively passed Wednesday, unless they took a prenuptial class on how to behave as a spouse.
Before the 78-63 vote, furor among Democrats and rebellious Republicans over the marriage fee hike prompted the bill's author to promise he'll merely double the current $30 fee before a final vote today. Applicants taking the classes would get free marriage licenses.
Even with final House approval, though, the bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate, where … Read More
