Well, like Denise Richards, it’s evidently complicated. Madonna’s adoption of 3-year-old orphan Mercy James has not yet been approved. The pop star spent an hour in court in the Malawi capital of Lilongwe on Monday where a judge delayed ruling on her adoption application until this Friday. It’s official: Madonna is adopting another adorable Malawian baby! Mercy James, 3, will be the newest addition to Madonna’s family and will be the second child Madonna has adopted from the country, joining brother David Banda, also 3, who was adopted in 2006. An official from the ministry of Gender and Child Development went on to explain that the little girl is from "Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died...We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week."
