Jay Louis (and others) wonder why is she with HIM?
I know you've been eagerly anticipating the court case of Douchebags vs. Hot Chicks. And the hotly contested verdict is in: the Superior Court Of New Jersey (naturally) has ruled in favor of Douchebag. Not really, Gawker gives the full rundown (worth a read). Essentially, Jay Louis created a website (hotchickswithdouchebags.com, not terribly safe for work) chronicling the phenomenon of nice looking ladies attracted to, well, douchebags. You know what we're talking about, right? The guys aren't necessarily ugly (or fugly or butt fugly), but there is something about the way they stand, … Read More
One woman goes three years without a date to kick her bad-boy habit.
When you hear the word "detox" all sorts of things come to mind: spas, juice fasts, colonics, rehab centers. People enter detoxification programs to rid their bodies of toxins, lose a little weight, maybe look and feel better about the damage they've done to their bodies. Detoxifications are done when you eat too many chips, drink too many drinks, do too many drugs. But how do you detoxify from poor love decisions? Megan Fox was a total downer at the Golden Globes. Is Brian Austin Green to blame?
Anyone catch Megan Fox's interview with Ryan Seacrest during the Golden Globes and not have half of your heart break? I don't have the time to find it so I'll go from memory.
1) She compared herself to Alan Alda.
2) She referred to herself as a "tranny."
3) She was both embarrassed AND nervous.
4) She digs Salma Hayek's boobs.
5) Brian Austin Green somehow had something better to do than attend the awards.
In order, I think a comparison to Alan Alda can best be described as "meh" or a naked attempt to fish for … Read More
A divorcee rediscovers passion through adult-only parties.
Two years ago while recovering from the demise of a fifteen-year marriage, I responded to an invitation to join a sex party. Knowing I was newly single and in no rush to get involved in another romantic relationship a woman I worked with unexpectedly told me about her unusual hobby and urged me to attend an event.
My marriage failed because of a million complex issues, one of which was my ex-husband's reaction to the changes in my body after I delivered our first child. After weaning my daughter so that I could go back … Read More
Your approach to lingerie may reveal more than you think.
It's often said that we learn everything we need to know about life in kindergarten. While that's a pretty bold statement, and one up for debate (I, for one, ate crayons), I believe that I learned everything I need to know about myself as a woman behind the plush pink doors of a Victoria's Secret fitting room.
The summer after my junior year in college, I balanced evening classes with a gig at the infamous lingerie purveyor. Despite the wench-work, which included doting on a few spoiled women with too much time on their hands, I fell in love with … Read More
Study seeks to establish link between what he says and how she feels.
Researchers from La Trobe University in Australia are seeking to correlate a link between a woman’s self-esteem and body image and her partner’s opinions.
Basically, researchers are going to explore how couples discuss the woman’s appearance and achievements and how she feels about herself. Good enough. There are two theories on this: 1) Women are happiest when they get positive feedback irrespective of how they view things. 2) Women prefer having their own beliefs validated even if theses beliefs are negative.
So it’s the Homer Simpson theory versus the Liz Lemon … Read More
