Don't let a busy routine hurt your chance for a happy, loving relationship.
We all work hard on our careers, helping our friends and family, and doing all those necessary chores. Women, particularly, are very generous with giving of themselves to others, sometimes to the detriment of their own needs and desires. But we're all guilty of getting caught in routines that don't leave enough time or energy for the ones we love.
We recently asked the YourTango Experts how we can find space in our busy lives for more quality time seeking love or spending time with our current relationships. Here's what they had to say:
Are you falling out of love, or is it just a bump in the road?
Are you falling out of love, or is it just a bump in the road?
Lately it seems like all my boyfriend and I do is bicker. It's not fighting, it's not arguing, it's not hating just mere bickering. At some points, I don't even want to see him, because you can cut the tension with a knife. He comes home from work, cleans himself up, and plops down on the recliner for some television (repeat episodes) and his laptop to look up glorified, unattainable goals. If I ask him to run to the store, go shopping with me, or run some errands he is very willing, so most women would wonder why am I bitching?
OK, so the title of this blog is misleading. There is no secret code to unlocking a woman’s libido. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, but it’s the truth. The one constant about women is that what turns us on is never the same. Never might be stretching the truth a wee bit, but rarely will the same thing turn us on every time. It’s one of the things that is probably the most maddening about us as a species.
Recently, my boyfriend expressed some fear that we had moved too fast. While it's only been four months, it feels like way more. Not quite a lifetime, but certainly a few years. We had clicked almost instantly, and while I was less than a year out of a nearly five-year relationship and he was, um, not quite divorced (a whole other topic), it seemed too good to pass up. I felt ready to be totally vulnerable and open to someone new, no matter where that might lead me. It has been (mostly) awesome.
Saving the planet, one sexy romp at a time. Tips for eco-friendly sex.
Not that we're complaining—being fellow Earthlings and all—but it seems that just about everything and its cheap knock-off is "going green" these days. But no green lifestyle is complete without some eco-friendly habits in the bedroom. With these four environmentally friendly sex tips and products at your disposal, it sure brings a new meaning to being sustainable in bed, eh?
With Frank away for four days Audrey ponders being home alone.
Well, so Frank left Sunday morning for a four-day business trip to San Francisco. Which is great for him, I mean, San Francisco is awesome. I’d love a free trip there. It’s just weird because that’s kind of almost the longest Frank and I have gone being apart, pretty much since we met. Probably a Christmas or Thanksgiving trip has topped it, but at least then we were both home visiting family, not one person left alone in a two-person apartment.
Colleen and her fiance agree that moving is a possibility.
Recently I’ve been getting the itch to move somewhere again, and it hit me: I can’t just pick up and go any time I want to. I’m engaged. I have another person’s feelings and future to consider. That kind of sucks.
I told Fred how I felt a few weeks ago–that if we end up staying in Atlanta for the rest of our lives because we want to, then that would be great. But if we decide now that there’s never even the option of moving, then I will begin to feel trapped– and caged animals are not the nicest creatures.
