rom-com
Is ex-sex OK? Rom-com restraining orders. And obeying your wife.
I'm big enough to admit that some people other than myself write things that are clever or insightful on the interwebs. I hate them for it but goldernit I respect them. And just so you can keep your day nice and compact, here are some of my favorites from the last handful of days:
My friends Em & Lo (EmAndLo.com) have compiled a list of the worst shows to watch when you're getting your swerve on. I suppose it goes without saying that the show Dirty Jobs should have made the list… that's what she said.
Interruptions, dating books and rom-coms bug Christian Bale (and most guys).
There are a few things that really bug guys. One of those things is messing with something sacred. Every guy has something different that’s sacred. It may be his French fries*, his money/ emotions** or even his Zohan***. Learn early what button not to push and then, um, don't push it (unless you're looking to reap some sort of whirlwind, hurricane or twister).
Guys (dudes and men too) generally place whatever they're doing right-at-that-very-moment in their list of things sacrosanct. It may look like he's half-heartedly reading a magazine article on advanced robotic theory, checking his email, listening to The … Read More
Is Kate Hudson with A-Rod? Adam Scott? Are you going to see Bride Wars?
"Oh, Rider, dear, you know you're still number one but mom's they wanna have fun, oh moms, they want to have fun."
It has been an awesome last week for Kate Hudson. First, her Bride Wars flick rakes in $21 million in its first weekend and despite less than charitable reviews should have a pretty decent weekend as there are no new challengers in the rom-com / chick flick space (Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Defiance, not withstanding). Evidently, people can relate to best friends sabotaging each others' weddings out of veneration for some pre-adolescent fantasy.
Then she … Read More
Strike.tv heats it up with the online sicom Global Warming.
That's a nice idea. Kristin Wiig, breakout star of a late night television show called Saturday Night Live (2/3 of which airs on Sunday morning, go figure), is taking part in an interwebs initiative called Strike.tv (it's a bit of a mess now). The motivation behind the site is to create an online Network for Hollywood storytellers to make high-quality, scripted shows, and retain their distribution rights and creative control. Also they seek to bring the money (advertisers) to the creators, put 'talent' in contact with representation, and do it all for free. Sounds lucrative. The site … Read More
Robert Wagner writes of his affairs. And Meg Ryan talks about Dennis Quaids'.
He was the star of Hart To Hart, he was Dr. Evil's original Number Two, and he was a good-looking dude in his day. And now he wants to tell you all about his life and his love in Pieces Of My Heart. Sure, he's no Robert Evans but there's some kooky stuff and some sad stuff, like the untimely death of Natalie Wood.
ABCNews excerpts the book's fifth chapter as part of their fealty to Good Morning America. He had some good times. One of the book’s biggest shockers was his relationship with Barbara Stanwyck. Barbara Stanwyck … Read More
