According to the LA Times, California's Supreme Court has voted 6 to 1 to uphold the controversial Proposition 8 addendum to California Law. The law narrows the definition of marriage to a single man and a single woman.

The bill was part of the November 4th (Super-duper Tuesday for Barack Obama backers) ballot and featured millions and millions of dollars in donations from both sides of the gay marriage issue.

A man decides he needs to save his marriage. And it's not the drinking, philandering and humiliations that threaten his marriage, it's gay marriage. Despite it's message, we think this may have actually been an anti Proposition 8 item (i.e. pro gay marriage).

Last week, tens of thousands of people across the country came out in support of same-sex marriage after California voters passed Proposition 8, which nullified previously legal unions. From New York City to Minneapolis, D.C. to San Francisco, gay marriage supporters turned out in huge crowds to protest the ballot initiative that passed in California on Nov. 4.

Mormon temples have been the site of many protests, as the faith rallied around Prop 8, although some in the gay rights movement are quick to point out that Mormons should not become the only scapegoat.
